ECtHR Communicated case: W.A. and others v. Italy (application no. 18787/17)

On 24 November 2017, the European Court of Human Rights communicated the case W.A. and others v. Italy (application no. 18787/17), which concerns five Sudanese nationals who were arrested in Ventimiglia, transferred to Turin and removed to Sudan. The complaint raises Article 3 ECHR (risk of being subjected to inhuman treatment if returned to Sudan), Article 4 of Protocol 4 (breach of the prohibition of collective expulsion), Article 13 ECHR read in conjunction with Articles 3 ECHR and Article 4 of Protocol 4, as well as Article 14 ECHR (discrimination on the ground of their national origin) read in conjunction with Article 4 of Protocol 4.
